What Is Tithing?
The biblical principle of tithing is more than giving to a “good cause.” The word “tithe” means tenth or 10%. Tithing isn’t merely giving something to God, it’s giving back what was His to begin with as an act of spiritual discipline. When we give, it is a response to God’s love for us and supports God’s mission, both locally and globally.
All that we have, or hope to have, comes from Him. Generosity teaches us to trust God as we continue to put Him first.

“But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you –see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” -II Corinthians 8:7
